Every fabric at La Bagatelle is chosen for its beauty and feel. The cotton is from Japan and India, the silk velvet is sourced in France and the blue striped vintage cotton is Chinese. Vintage French, English and Indian fabrics are found at international auctions. Add to that incredibly precious fabrics from the 18th century for rare one-offs. As the batches of fabric are small, each style is made in very limited numbers.

JAPANESE CHECK
This Japanese cotton and linen mixed fabric has a paper like crisp feel and has been treated to get a sun bleached and aged look. The quality and look of this fabric is quite extraordinary.
WHITE SEERSUCKER COTTON
This Japanese seersucker cotton is soft and perfect for summer. The wrinkled texture of the cotton helps air to circulate and keep you cool, and it just feels great against the skin. Added bonus is of course that you shouldn’t iron it.
JAPANESE CHEESECLOTH PINSTRIPE
This is a soft and lightweight cotton with a subtle gathered cheesecloth texture. A semi sheer cotton with a thin pinstripe that runs parallel with the selvedge. It truly is like nothing else. We don’t iron ours.
RASPBERRY NATURAL DYE
An Indian light weight, soft cotton khadi. It is naturally dyed handloom and irregularities may occur – it only adds to the beauty of the fabric.
DUO BLUE INDIAN COTTON
Hand loomed Indian cotton with a soft feel and a look that only gets better wash by wash.
ENGLISH HOUNDS TOOTH
Fine suiting-weight wool and cotton with a small woven hounds tooth check in black and white check. It is soft, smooth and tightly-woven.
TURQUOISE FRENCH LINEN
Made in France this washed linen has a soft, drapey and beautifully slubby texture. It looks great ironed, but we love it just as much crinkled from life and wear.
LAVENDER SILK VELVET
The velvet is washed and dyed in small batches in France to create amazing jewel like colours – one batch may vary from another. It has a viscose pile on a silk back making it incredibly soft with a lustrous shine.
