The Ruthie Apron, vintage Chinese cotton, Large
Sold OutSTYLE DESCRIPTION
The Ruthie Apron is named after the formidable Ruth Rogers of Malene Malling’s all time favourite restaurant The River Cafe in London. To go there and eat is to live life at its fullest. Ruth Rogers was married to the late architect Richard Rogers and it was while cooking for him when he built Centre Pompidou in Paris that she really got into buying fresh produce every day to cook lunch. Only later did she open The River Cafe with her friend the late Rose Gray. What started as a canteen for her husband’s architectural firm is today all you need of an excuse to go to London.
Ruth Rogers is still in the kitchen at the restaurant, and we’d like to think that she would love to wear the Ruthie Apron. Like her it’s inspired by France, as it resembles a classic French apron of the highest quality.
