Dear friend of La Bagatelle,

I greatly appreciate a generosity of spirit, a solidarity between women, and I truly believe that beauty, not the devil, is in the detail. There is a little piece of heaven here on Earth where I have experienced just that. It is called Ett Hem and it is the very special hotel in Stockholm by the extraordinary Jeanette Mix. I remember the very first time I met her, at the first La Bagatelle pop up we did in Stockholm at the wonderful Cathy Nordström’s shop. Jeanette instantly got La Bagatelle, and knew exactly what she wanted making quick and very certain choices. She was kind, warm and had a very strong personality and natural authority. It goes without saying, that I liked her instantly.

Since then we have done two pop ups at Ett Hem, a place like no other. When staying there it feels like you are part of a big, extended family where everyone is there to, make you feel loved and cared for. And everything, and I mean everything, from the food, the interiors, the selection of books in the library, the flowers in the pots and court yard, the art on the walls, and the beds you sleep in at night are nothing short of very, very impressive. It is the quiet and discreet luxury of someone in the know. It feels like a home (Ett Hem), the kind of home you dream of having. If you ever get the chance, then I urge you to go.

The picture above is from a dinner Jeanette hosted in La Bagatelle’s honour last week in Stockholm. It was so special, we wanted to share the experience the best we could and I believe that Frederikke-Agnete Svarre’s pictures give some of the vibe.

Lots of love,
Malene Malling
