I really enjoy most of what singer Patti Smith has written, and not surprisingly “Just Kids” most of all, which is about her friendship to artist Robert Mapplethorpe. However, her latest “A book of days”is gorgeous and just about the perfect book to buy in January as it is a collection of pictures, mostly shot by herself, one for each day in the year with a small explanation to go with it.
