Lisbeth Jacket, Japanese Sashiko Indigo
STYLE DESCRIPTION
The Lisbeth Jacket has an American laid back casualness about it mixed with a classic French chicness. Is is inspired by a late friend of Malene Malling’s who was the epitomy of grace and class. Based in New York but owning every room she ever entered. Always beautiful, always special whether she was in her studio surrounded by her artworks, at home or turning heads in restaurants. Funny, elegant and truly original.
JAPANESE SASHIKO INDIGO
Sashiko or “little stabs” as it is translated, is a traditional Japanese technique of functional embroidery that can reinforce the fabric to make it stronger and more durable. This heavyweight Sashiko cotton is made of layers of thread, making it strong yet lightweight and breathable with a stitched texture. The fabric is dyed using a traditional technique of real indigo dye before being woven.
The fabric is rich in real indigo dye and the colour can transfer in the beginning.
