Every fabric at La Bagatelle is chosen for its beauty and feel. Natural fabrics are preferred as are natural colours when possible – both for its environmental impact and for the depth in the colours which is much more varied and interesting when natural dye is used. We try to make La Bagatelle special in every way possible which is why we attend auctions worldwide to buy unique fabrics and prints as well as buy from important international fabric collectors. For the same reason we prefer small scale production places where quality is favoured over quantity. The cotton, for instance, is from Japan or India, and there are even rare finds such as precious fabrics from the 18th century that fill us with excitement and joy when we find them. All tailor made in limited numbers, and occasionally there is only enough fabric for one unique piece for one very lucky customer.
